The environment is changing due to natural and anthropogenic factors, which has a significant impact on the economy, labour market and social processes. The Economic Studies Department analyses how countries are embracing these changes, including Belarus, where green initiatives are gaining increasing importance within the economic strategy.

Belarusian exports continue to adapt to the changing conditions of global trade, exploring new logistics routes. In 2025, the key remains the development of transit to China, as well as the optimisation of deliveries to countries in Asia, the Middle East and Africa.

Trends in global agricultural commodity markets for 2025 show a stabilisation of prices, instead of the high volatility in previous years. Increased interest in organic products and expanding trade linkages are expected, especially in developing countries. Experts predict that the expansion of digital platforms for trade will play a key role in the development of international trade flows. This opens up new opportunities for intermediaries and companies that focus on the agricultural sector.

Forecasts show that by 2025 there will be significant growth in international trade thanks to the improvement of logistics infrastructure and the strengthening of the role of digital trading platforms. This development is driven by the need to diversify markets and optimise import and export processes.

In 2024, Belarus achieved significant growth in the export of dairy products, increasing the volume of shipments by 35% compared to 2023. Through the Belarus Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE), more than 181,000 tonnes of dairy products were traded, almost nine times more than the previous year.
