An international scientific and practical conference Scientific and technological cooperation as a basis for the development of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) in the context of new economic challenges: problems and ways of solving them will be held in Minsk on 20 June. The conference is organized by the Eurasian Economic Commission and the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) of Belarus.
The event will be attended by Mikhail Myasnikovich, Chairman of the EEC Collegium, a number of EEC ministers, Vladimir Gusakov, Chairman of the Presidium of the NAS of Belarus, leading scientists and experts of the Union's countries.
The scientific and practical conference comprises four sections and a plenary session organised at the scientific organisations of the National Academy of Sciences.
- The first section will be dedicated to production and import substitution in the market of pharmaceutical and biological products. It will be held at the Institute of Microbiology of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. Within the section, Victor Nazarenko, Minister for Technical Regulation of the EEC, will speak about topical aspects in the regulation of the common market of medicines.
- The second section to be held at the United Institute of Informatics Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus with the participation of scientific organisations and higher education institutions is planned to address the issues of information and communication technologies. Varos Simonyan, Minister of Internal Markets, Informatization, Information and Communication Technologies of the EEC, will speak on Harmonized policy in the field of ICT within the EEU.
- The third section, organized at the United Institute of Mechanical Engineering of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, will discuss prospects of development of mechanical engineering and technologies for obtaining new materials. Artak Kamalyan, Minister of Industry and Agro-industry of the EEC, will speak about the prospects of industrial and scientific-technical cooperation in the field of development of mechanical engineering and development of new types of materials.
- Participants of the fourth session will address the issues of the EAEU economy under conditions of structural and technological transformation. The venue will be the Scientific and Practical Centre for Food of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. Sergey Glazyev, Minister of Integration and Macroeconomics of the EEC, will present the commission. The topic of his presentation will be Modern methodology for modelling economic development under conditions of structural and technological transformation and transition to a new world economic order.
The results of the conference will be summed up at a plenary session, which will be held as an enlarged session of the Presidium of the Scientific and Technical Council under the Chairman of the EEC Board. The venue will be the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
The results of the conference will be used in the work of the forthcoming high-level working group on creating conditions for enhancing internal stability of the economies of the Union States, including ensuring macroeconomic stability and resistance to external challenges.
